Sub: Nominations invited for District Governor Nominee 2011--2012


Dear Club Secretary,

Pursuant to Resolutions adopted at the District Conference of RI District 3290 held in January 2008, it was resolved that RI District 3291 would adopt Article 13.020.13 of RI By Laws to select the DGN following the procedure as laid down in Article 13.030 and Article 13.040 of the said RI By Laws.

Accordingly, as per Article 13.030.1 of the RI By Laws (MOP 2007, page 227), proposals for nomination as District Governor Nominee 2011-2012 in the form of a resolution adopted by the club in a regular weekly meeting, quorum being present and certified by the Club President and the Club Secretary in Format - 1 (attached) are invited from the clubs to reach the office of the District Governor at 64, Lake Place, Kolkata - 700 029 latest by 4 pm on 31st October 2008.

Consent by the Candidate is mandatory and therefore be indicated in Format - II
(attached). Bio Data of the Candidate along with one passport size photograph in
Format - III (attached) countersigned by the President and the Secretary of the Club should be enclosed with the resolution.

Attention of all Clubs is drawn to :

(a) Article 15.070, 15.080 & 15.090 of RI By Laws in Manual of Procedure 2007
(page 234 to 236) regarding qualification and duties of a Governor Nominee / District Governor.
(b) Article 10.060 of RI By laws in Manual of Procedure 2007 (page 211) prohibiting campaigning, canvassing and electioneering for elective positions of R.I., by a candidate himself/ herself or by any one on his / her behalf
(c) Article 13 of MOP 2007 (page 224 to 229) regarding Nominations and Elections for Governors.

The candidates proposed shall be :
(i) A member in good standing from a functional Rotary Club of RI District 3291
(ii) A person who is maintaining full qualifications of membership in a Rotary Club
(iii) A person who has served as a President of a Rotary Club for a full term
(iv) A person who must have the ability to fulfill the duties of Governor faithfully
(v) A person who has good knowledge of Rotary
(vi) A person who must have been a member of one or more Rotary Clubs for at least 7 (seven) years at the time of assuming office of District Governor on July 1, 2011.

The bio-data of the Rotarian proposed for the election as the DGN is enclosed herewith with photograph and the consent of the candidate duly signed by him / her in the required format and to the best of our knowledge and belief, the same is true and correct.
