DISTRICT GOVERNOR SHYAMASHREE SEN takes charge of the leadership of Rotary District 3291 at SAMARURHA held at Nazrul Mancha.
In a glittering program SAMARURHA, Shyamashree Sen, only the second lady Governor took charge of 97 year old Rotary International District 3291 at a glittering program held at the Nazrul Mancha where there was assembly of over 2000 Rotarians, industrialists, cultural icons and renowned medical practitioners to witness the changeover ceremony.
Cultural presentations by Shilpatirtha and Unicorn Dance Company along with financial contribution towards the rehabilitation of a 12 year old physically challenged cancer survivor Anjali Roy was made on the occasion. Also a contribution of Rs 1 lakh was also made for the inmates of Arunima Hospice , a home for HIV infected at Nazrul Mancha.
DISTRICT GOVERNOR Shyamashree Sen outlined her vision for WASH IN SCHOOL project where health, hygiene awareness and wash basin installations would be made in schools of Bengal , 200 cleft in palate operations, 10000 IOL operations, Organ donation awareness campaign, Thalassaemia awareness and screening programs Self Help Group skill training programs amd more.
The program also featured some of the topmost medical practitioners being felicitated including Dr Chanchal Gsowami, Dr Indrajit Roy, Dr Bhobotosh Biswas, Dr Sunil Nag, Dr Ramendu Hom Chowdhury among others.
PRID Yash Pal Das was the chief guest on the occasion. Also present were PRID Shekhar Mehta and host of other PDG's
Unicorn Dance Company and Shilpa Tirtha made dance and song presentations.
